Since October 2014, file-based delivery of AS-11 compliant programme masters has been compulsory for commissions delivering to the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Channel 5, S4/C, UKTV and BT Sport.
A Producers Guide to DPP
Funded by the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, and with active partnerships, UKTV, Channel Five, Sky and the Indie Production companies, The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has introduced best practice guidelines to speed-up the transition to full digital production and distribution in television. From October 1st this will be a mandatory requirement for any file delivery to all of the participating broadcasters.
West Digital & DPP
Since December 2013, West Digital has been working with Freeform Productions to successfully deliver 80 episodes of Place in the Sun to Channel 4. The delivery of the files to one of the UK’s leading broadcasters once again demonstrates our ongoing commitment to best practice within the industry, and working with our clients and UK broadcasters to maximize the potential benefits and savings of digital production.
Working with the DPP
Delivering files to the DPP specification need not be complicated. At West Digital we’ve invested in the technology and are delivering DPP files regularly already. We’re offering this service now. Simply deliver a file to us and we’ll do the rest.
