Lovely to see our work featured in this months Broadcast Tech magazine.
“Based on her play of the same name, Maxine Peake’s film explores the vilification of Hull housewife, Lillian Bilocca who in 1968 successfully spearheaded a campaign for a safer fishing trawler industry. Conversations with the current local community balance the scenes of stark period drama. The film was shot on Amira at 4k. Colourist Peter Zacaroli said, “Docudramas are always fun to work on as you have the challenge of making the documentary footage look great whilst making the drama sections look glossy. Working with DoP Esther Vardy and director, Vanessa Stockley, we decided on a 1960s filmic look for the docudrama sections which the great costume design and lighting really helped to sell”. Exec Producer, Eddie Morgan from Northern Town said, “Maxine had a clear, very distinct vision to combine drama with hearing from the women of Hessle Road in Hull today. Maxine and Vanessa tell a remarkable story about a very remarkable woman””
